The Truro Fire Department currently owns and
operates the following vehicles:
Automobiles:
C-160 - 2000 Dodge Durango
Purchased through the State
of Ohio Bid Program.
This will be the Fire
Chief's vehicle.
C-162 - 1997 Ford Crown Victoria
Purchased through the State
of Ohio Bid Program.
This car is used by the
Assistant Fire Chief.
C-161 - 1993 Ford Crown Victoria
This vehicle is used by the
Captain or Shift Officers
to respond to emergencies,
and by the Captain and
Lieutenants to attend
meetings and conferences.
Vans:
P-161 - 1993 Ford Van
This van was donated by the
Jim Wade family to the
Fire Department. It
is used to pull the Fire Safety
trailer and in other fire
education programs.
P-162 - 2000 Chevy Astro Van
This is a cargo van which
has all of the fire and arson
investigation tools.
This van is used by the Fire
Prevention Bureau.
Medics:
M-161 - 1998 International chassis
The body, electrical
components, and interior were
manufactured by the Horton
Company in Grove City,
Ohio.
M-162 - 2001 International chassis
The body, electrical
components, and interior were
manufactured by the Horton
Company in Grove City,
Ohio.
M-163 - 1996 International chassis
This vehicle was the first
that we purchased from the
Horton Company.
Engines (fire trucks):
E-161 - 2004 KME
Custom Engine
This truck carries 750 gallons of water and
can pump 1500 gallons of water a
minute. It is also equipped with class A foam. Class
A foam is used to increase the waters ability to quench a fire.
E-162 - 1985 Pierce Arrow
This truck carries 750
gallons of water and can pump
1,500 gallons a
minute. It was refurbished in 1998.
E-164 - 1997 Pierce, build on an International chassis.
This is the first-out
engine. This truck carries 1,000
gallons of water and can
pump 1,500 gallons a minute.
It also carries paramedic
equipment. If our other
medics are busy, we can use
this engine until we
receive mutual aid from
another department.
E-165 - 1985 Pierce - Dash
This truck carries 750
gallons of water and can pump
1,250 gallons a
minute. This truck was a demo when
purchased and is still in
very good condition. It is used
as a back-up engine when
either E-161 or E-162 are
being serviced.
Grass Fighter
GF-163 - 1958 Chevy Pickup 4WD
This truck was purchased new
and has been in
continuous service
since. It has been refurbished and
repainted several
times. The truck still runs good and
pumps good. With this
type of truck, you can drive
and pump water at the same
time. It carries about
100 gallons of water.
