Trustee Meeting Minutes September 1, 2011
The Truro Township Trustees held a regular meeting September 1, 2011 at 6:00 pm at St. 161. Present were Trustees Pat Mahaffey, Barbara Strussion, Dennis Nicodemus, Fiscal Officer Natalie Nicodemus, B.C. Hein, B.C. Deaver, B.C. Kimble, B.C. Sharps, Chief Foltz, and Superintendent Stan Knoderer. Administrator Bob Stapleton was absent.
The Meeting was called to order with the pledge and roll call.
Barbara Strussion moved to approve meeting minutes from August 4 meeting. Pat Mahaffey seconded motion. All voted yes.
Fire Department
Chief Foltz: Tomato Festival went well.
Taste of Reynoldsburg is Tuesday, September 13 – we will have the safety house and a fire extinguisher demonstrator on hand.
Wendy Starr creating a foundation to raise money to provide all Franklin County stations with O2 masks for pets.
Chief Hein: 2012 fire grant is for traffic interrupters. It is a $170,000.00 system and we will be responsible for 10%. Hope to connect with Violet Twp.
Water leak at St. 162 in weight room. Expansion tank rusted and damaged a few ceiling tiles– Gutridge Plumbing will be in Friday morning.
B.C. Deaver: MECC outage at blue mile meeting Friday to discuss cause and prevention
Fax line tracked down was using unknown line that got shut off
Violet server sharing
Violet PRI 7 channels Truro 5 channels looking at sharing PRI
Set up virtual environment for MDT to test iPad. Had conference call with apple reference purchases should we move to that in the future
Meeting with MECC/Mifflin IT team discussion of sharing services and streamlining IT
Grossman writing grant request for new CAD
Working on specifications of new cad 4 work groups dispatcher's end users IT and administration
Salamander project completed using rockets rather than moto-mesh chief Tilton working with FEMA on how to use remaining funds
Web site has been updated by Philip Vaughn excellent job very into the history of the township. Looking into adding weather alerts back to site
B.C. Kimble: Stations are working on winterizing vehicles.
Service call has been placed for broken surveillance camera at St. 162.
Fire Prevention report: fire investigations
Kitchen fires at Post Woods apartments and at Hickory House.
Life safety training at elementary schools.
Shirey and Posey attended State Arson School
Plastic helmets were re-ordered.
B.C. Sharps: 431 EMS runs in August.
Vance cardiac life support training is required every two years.
Reynoldsburg bus drivers were CPR trained.
Roads and Cemetery
Superintendent Stan Knoderer report: Two interments in August
August 5: Diane Cox-Linville
August 20: Marie Evans
American Legion Post 798 is organizing fundraiser to purchase foundations for veterans' markers for the cemetery.
Village of Brice has paid entire balance for last winter's snow removal.
Owner sent certified letter for noxious weeds. One tax lien is also pending.
Administration
Fiscal Officer's report: Approved August 2011 bank reconciliation.
Administrator Bob Stapleton: absent
Pay Mahaffey moved to approve payroll of $256,361.50 and bills of $178,975.91 for August. Barbara Strussion seconded the motion. All voted yes.
Pat Mahaffey moved to authorize Fiscal Officer to pay the bills and payroll for September. Barbara Strussion seconded. All voted yes.
Pat Mahaffey made motion to adjourn at 6:37pm.
Next regular meeting will be Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 6:00pm at Station 161.
