Trustee Meeting Minutes June 2, 2011

The Truro Township Trustees held a regular meeting June 2, 2011 at 6:00 pm at St. 161. Present were Trustees Pat Mahaffey, Barbara Strussion, Dennis Nicodemus, Fiscal Officer Natalie Nicodemus, B.C. Hein, B.C. Kimble, B.C. Sharps, Chief Foltz, and Superintendent Stan Knoderer. Administrator Bob Stapleton and B.C. Deaver were absent.

The Meeting was called to order with the pledge and roll call.

Barbara Strussion moved to approve meeting minutes from May 5 meeting. Pat Mahaffey seconded motion. All voted yes.

Guest: Paul Wenning Franklin County Board of Health annual update.

Chief Foltz: New LiferPac 15's are in service and on the trucks.
Possibilities for old Pierce: 1. List on gov.com as no departments have expressed interest. 2. Donate it to tornado ravaged areas of Alabama – looking into further details.
Friday, June 3 is “20 Minute Makeover” day in Reynoldsburg. We will be cleaning around both stations starting at 10am.
Would like the Trustees to declare 1600 ft of 5 inch hose surplus. We have a small department that is interested in buying it. It will be priced at $1 per foot.

Pat Mahaffey made a motion to declare 1600 ft of 5 inch hose surplus. Dennis Nicodemus seconded. All voted yes.

Chief Hein: Presented rebids for paving.
Pat Mahaffey moved to use Armor Paving for driveway sealing at both stations and cemetery road. Barb Strussion seconded. All voted yes.

B.C. Kimble: City of Reynoldsburg fixed parking lot lights at St. 162.
KME is back from Violet Twp. Whitehall has a medic now.
Bunk room floor is finally being replaced at St. 162.

Fire Prevention report: July 4th festivities: July 2: parade 4pm, fireworks at dusk.

B.C. Sharps: 489 EMS runs in May.
Drug addendum for 2011 arrived from pharmacy board.
Signed ride-along contract with Columbus State Community College students. For every 60 hours of ride time, department earns 1 credit hour.

Superintendent Stan Knoderer report: Thank you to Chief Foltz and all members of Batallion 161 for attending the flag raising ceremony on Memorial Day.

Getting pricing to repair ruts along Truro Rd.
Inspection of storm sewers in Qualstan will be completed in June.
Two property owners were sent violation notices for noxious weeds and both complied.

Fiscal Officer's report: Approved April 2011 bank reconciliation.
2011 budget will be completed 2 weeks before meeting so it can be reviewed and approved at July regular meeting.

Pay Mahaffey moved to approve payroll of $258,328.94 and bills of $248,922.83 for May. Barbara Strussion seconded the motion. All voted yes.

Pat Mahaffey moved to authorize Fiscal Officer to pay the bills and payroll for June. Barbara Strussion seconded. All voted yes.

Guest: Dan Guttman Baker & Hostetler presenting tools for addressing deteriorating properties and other nuisances.

Pat Mahaffey made motion to adopt new policies 30 and 31 addressing issues addressed above for policy manual. Barb Strussion seconded. All voted yes.

Pat Mahaffey made motion to adjourn at 7:16pm.

Next regular meeting will be Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 6:00pm at Station 161.
