Trustee Meeting Minutes September 2, 2010

The Truro Township Trustees held a regular meeting September 2, 2010 at 6:00 pm at St. 161. Present were Trustee Pat Mahaffey, Trustee Dennis Nicodemus, Trustee Barb Strussion, Fiscal Officer Natalie Nicodemus, Superintendent Stan Knoderer, B.C. Kimble, B.C. Deaver, Administrator Bob Stapleton and B.C. Hein. Chief Foltz and B.C. Sharps were absent.

The Meeting was called to order with the pledge and roll call.

Barb Strussion moved to approve meeting minutes August 5, 2010 and Dennis Nicodemus seconded motion. All voted yes.

Guest: Jeff Cahill SWACO
Presentation on proposed Rates and changes.

Chief Hein: Door at St. 162 will be fixed in the next couple weeks.
Working on bids for fire extinguisher quotes.
Injury report discrepancy fixed.

Lt. Brooks: Cot collapsed – sent back to manufacturer. No injuries.

B.C. Kimble: 5 new part timers are working and doing well.

B.C. Deaver: T1 line replaced with cable modem to connect both stations.

Fire Prevention: 64 business inspections
Conducted life safety at Junior High
All schools have been inspected
Eden at Reynoldsburg (former White Birch) – tenants are moving in.

Superintendent Stan Knoderer report: 3 interments: John and Susan Huber, August 5, 2010 (mausoleum niche) & Arvena Riffle, August 16, 2010.
Replaced two vandalized stop signs.
2 locations referred to FCBOH for noxious weeds and accumulation of trash.

Fiscal Officer's report: Rates for cemetery bequest CD – Heartland is highest.
July reconciliation authorized by motion from Pat Mahaffey. Dennis Nicodemus seconded. All voted yes.

Pat Mahaffey moved to approve payroll of $269,481.15 and bills of $172,549.68 for August. Dennis Nicodemus seconded the motion. All voted yes.

Pat Mahaffey moved to authorize Fiscal Officer to pay the bills and payroll for September. Dennis Nicodemus seconded. All voted yes.

Resolution 090210A: A resolution to express support for passage of House Bill 344 and Senate Bill 228 limiting recovery of rate-case expenses for certain water works and sewage disposal system companies. Barb Strussion seconded. All voted yes.

Resolution 090210B: Resolution accepting the amounts and rates as determined by the budget commission and authorizing the necessary tax levies and certifying them to the county auditor. Dennis Nicodemus seconded. All voted yes.

Policy manual: B.C.'s need to familiarize themselves with new manual.

Performance evaluation topic tabled until next meeting.

Swearing in of Michael Pfaff.

Pat Mahaffey made motion to adjourn at 6:40pm.

Next regular meeting will be Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 6:00pm at Station 161.
