Trustee Meeting Minutes June 3, 2010

The Truro Township Trustees held a regular meeting June 3, 2010 at 6:00 pm at St. 161. Present were Trustee Pat Mahaffey, Barbara Strussion, Chief Foltz, Trustee Dennis Nicodemus, Superintendent Stan Knoderer, B.C. Sharps and B.C. Deaver, Administrator Bob Stapleton B.C. Hein and B.C. Kimble. Fiscal Officer Natalie Nicodemus was absent.

The Meeting was called to order with the pledge and roll call.

Barbara Strussion moved to approve meeting minutes May 6, 2010 meeting. Pat Mahaffey seconded motion. All voted yes.

Guests:
Paul Wenning Franklin County Board of Health: Update and some new changes in the county to clean up the water that is discharged into our streams.

John Hower Hylant Group: New Ohio Plan agent. Introduced himself and explained how his company will work with our township to give us the same service we have had in the past.

Kurt Keljo Blacklick Water Shed Coordinator: Explained how Blacklick Water Shed is related to the drainage system that goes all the way to the Gulf of Mexico and gave some problems that Truro Township has that they are trying to correct.

Chris Haley Keytel: Explained what the problem is with our phone system and how they are going to correct it.

Chief Foltz: B.C. Attended ribbon cutting ceremony for Valu King where we were given $500 in gift cards. Thank you very much to them.
Finished interviews for new part time program. When all are graded we will start background checks.
Would like to look at replacing the 1973 2 mil levy at this fall's election.
All the new department photos are in and ready to be put on frames.

Fire Prevention report: 90 business inspections
3 fire investigations
Met with City of Reynoldsburg to discuss July 4th fireworks.

Superintendent Stan Knoderer report: 2 interments Mrs. Jean Helle on May 8, 2010 and Mrs. Marcella Gilliland on May 10, 2010.
American Legion supplied flags for Memorial Day ceremony.
Stop sign was replaced at Fleet Rd and Parkline Rd East.

All new street and road signs have been ordered and will total $2600.00
Liens have been placed on 5 properties that were cleared of noxious weeds in the last 2 weeks.
Franklin County Engineers cleared a clogged storm sewer tile system along Graham Rd on May 18, 2010.

Fiscal Officer's report: April reconciliation authorized by motion from Pat Mahaffey. Dennis Nicodemus seconded. All voted yes. Absent

Pat Mahaffey made a motion to adopt the investment policy. Dennis Nicodemus seconded. All voted yes.

Barbara Strussion made a motion to increase cemetery lot price to $750.00 as of August 1, 2010. Pat Mahaffey seconded. All voted yes.

Pay Mahaffey moved to approve payroll of $245,097.68 and bills of $339,223.96 for May. Barbara Strussion seconded the motion. All voted yes.

Pat Mahaffey moved to authorize Fiscal Officer to pay the bills and payroll for June. Barbara Strussion seconded. All voted yes.

Pat Mahaffey made motion to adjourn at 7:30pm.

Next regular meeting will be Thursday July 1, 2010 at 6:00pm at Station 161.
