Trustee Meeting Minutes August 4, 2011

The Truro Township Trustees held a regular meeting August 4, 2011 at 6:00 pm at St. 161. Present were Trustees Pat Mahaffey, Barbara Strussion, Dennis Nicodemus, Fiscal Officer Natalie Nicodemus, B.C. Hein, B.C. Deaver, Superintendent Stan Knoderer, and Administrator Bob Stapleton. B.C. Kimble, B.C. Sharps and Chief Foltz were absent.

The Meeting was called to order with the pledge and roll call.

Barbara Strussion moved to approve meeting minutes from July 7 meeting. Pat Mahaffey seconded motion. All voted yes.

Guest: Stephanie Estes Lifestyle Family Fitness here to discuss Corporate Wellness Program. Looking for 10 interested employees to participate.

Fire Department
Chief Foltz: Corinne Breece is retiring as of August 5, 2011.
Lieutenant's testing is finished and final standings are completed.
Engine 162 is in need to new tires due to a screw in one tire.

Chief Hein: Water leak in kitchen at station 161 was fixed by M.R.S.
Mull & Wiethman will be at station for meeting on Monday, August 8, 2011.

B.C. Deaver: MECC operations group has formed subcommittees to look into money saving options. Looking into was for departments to collaborate and share equipment to cut costs.

B.C. Kimble: back flow preventer was checked as mandated by the city.
City may be interested in putting waste cans around station 162 and community garden. We have been volunteered to pick up trash on Livingston Ave on both sides of the street and behind the station.
Looking into options for lights at station 162 to replace damaged lights.

Fire Prevention report: Everything is ready for Tomato Festival
Taste of Reynoldsburg will be in September
One fire in July on Priestly Dr.
Will be walking through all schools this month.
Sendastar (company who makes plastic fire hats) may be out of business. Looking for new place to order from.

B.C. Sharps: 512 EMS runs in July.
CPR satellite completed an audit because program has been revamped. New things had to be purchased to follow protocol.

Clark State Community College signed agreement for students to ride along in medics for their field experience. Mt. Carmel nurses will also be conducting ride-alongs in an effort for better communication at hospital.

Roads and Cemetery
Superintendent Stan Knoderer report: Two interments in July
July 11: Joseph Whitt
July 14: Irma French
Owner referred to the Joint Criminal Task Force for the dumping of solid waste in the right of way has removed waste.

Administration Fiscal Officer's report: Approved July 2011 bank reconciliation.
Memo: Transfer $100,000.00 from 28-A-09 to 28-A-01

Administrator Bob Stapleton: nuisance policies press release was in four papers and on the website.
Inside millage was denied for 2012.

Pay Mahaffey moved to approve payroll of $396,146.82 and bills of $344,643.18 for July. Barbara Strussion seconded the motion. All voted yes.

Pat Mahaffey moved to authorize Fiscal Officer to pay the bills and payroll for August. Barbara Strussion seconded. All voted yes.

Pat Mahaffey made motion to adjourn at 6:46pm.

Next regular meeting will be Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 6:00pm at Station 161.
