Trustee Meeting Minutes February 4, 2010

The Truro Township Trustees held a regular meeting February 4, 2010 at 6:00 pm at St. 161. Present were Trustee Pat Mahaffey, Barbara Strussion, Fiscal Officer Natalie Nicodemus, B.C. Deaver, B.C. Hein, Chief Foltz and Trustee Dennis Nicodemus Administrator Bob Stapleton. Superintendent Stan Knoderer, B.C. Kimble and B.C. Sharps.

The Meeting was called to order with the pledge and roll call.

Barbara Strussion moved to approve meeting minutes from January 7 regular and organizational meeting. Pat Mahaffey seconded motion. All voted yes.

Guest Tony Szymczak: delivered Ohio Risk Management Plan 2010 bid.

Guest Marian Harris: discussed the American Water rate hike and other plans for area.

Chief Foltz: Received thank you letter from Mary Berchum for toy drive.
2009 OT: 56 hr $26,716.46 40 hr $10,346.58 and wage cost for part time program is $116,802.95.
Congratulations to Lt. John Kern for retirement and thank you for 32 yrs of dedication and devotion. With this vacancy declared, Chief would like to recommend Chad Compton be promoted to Lieutenant from eligibility list. Pat Mahaffey made motion to promote Chad Compton to Lieutenant. Dennis Nicodemus seconded motion. All voted yes.
Thank you to Todd Poole for all for his hard work on the computer problems and on writing software for MECC.
KME engine is back from shop and in service.
Global Tech – looking for grant for system to turn traffic lights green in our favor.

Chief Hein: KME estimate from October 2009 was only $100 more than fixing it now – pleasantly surprised.

Fire Prevention report: Several fire inspections this month.
Cross Key Row apartments were bought and are being renovated.

Lt. Brooks: 2009 year end statistics: 240 transmissions, 156 public H1N1 shots, 386 trained on CPR/AED, 111 first aid, 14 TEMS raids.
PALS needs renewed every 2 years – 1/20/2010.

B.C. Sharps: PALS training provided to department 1/20/10.
MECC/EMS software close to being implemented.
Medical director updated protocol.

B.C. Kimble: department would like to begin to take applications for part timers in mid-February.
Engine leak on E-162 is being repaired by Dan Mattis
Dorsey mounted command center in expedition.

Superintendent Stan Knoderer report: 1 interment on January 22, 2010 Eva Mitchell.
Sold 2 crypts in mausoleum to Harold & Rebecca Johnson of Pigeon Forge, TN.
Began cutting tree limbs/brush away from street signs.
Violation: owner of 7720 E. Main Street was summoned to court for failure to comply with zoning requirements

Fiscal Officer's report: January reconciliation tabled.
1099's for 2009 completed.

Pat, Barb and Dennis all congratulate Lt. Kern on his retirement.

Pay Mahaffey moved to approve payroll of $269,203.65 and bills of $367,019.47 for January. Barbara Strussion seconded the motion. All voted yes.

Pat Mahaffey moved to authorize Fiscal Officer to pay the bills and payroll for February. Barbara Strussion seconded. All voted yes.

Pat Mahaffey made motion to adjourn at 6:33pm.

Swearing in of Chad Compton and Jeremiah Bivona.

Next regular meeting will be Thursday March 4, 2010 at 6:00 pm at Station 161.
