Trustee Meeting Minutes March 4, 2010
The Truro Township Trustees held a regular meeting March 4, 2010 at 6:00 pm at St. 161. Present were Trustee Pat Mahaffey, Barbara Strussion, Fiscal Officer Natalie Nicodemus, B.C. Hein, Chief Foltz and Trustee Dennis Nicodemus Administrator Bob Stapleton. Superintendent Stan Knoderer, B.C. Kimble and B.C. Sharps. B.C. Deaver was absent.
The Meeting was called to order with the pledge and roll call.
Barbara Strussion moved to approve meeting minutes from February 4 meeting. Pat Mahaffey seconded motion. All voted yes.
Chief Foltz: In process of hiring new part time fire fighters. Hope to have a total of 25.
Still waiting to hear about grants.
In talks with Reynoldsburg City Schools about donating a surplus medic.
Employee handbook is almost complete.
Chief Hein: Firewatch issue
Working on policy for recertification so it does not lapse.
Fire Prevention report: 84 inspections in February.
2 new fire investigations: 1 on Waggoner/1 on Rodebaugh
Cross Key Row apartments were bought and are being renovated.
Knox Box key retention boxes installed.
B.C. Sharps: Department physicals schedule May 3, 4, 5.
Working on body armor quotes. 13 sets expire on July 1, 2010.
CDC is warning a third wave of H1N1 could be coming. Twp still has shots available.
B.C. Kimble: K. Perry replaced airvac filters.
Dan Mattis is working on M 162.
Measurement for community garden began.
Superintendent Stan Knoderer report: 1 new gravesite purchased.
Replaced stop sign at Fleet and Quincy.
Working on bid with OAS State bid Program for high intensity reflective signs required.
Filling potholes as they are discovered.
Fiscal Officer's report: January reconciliation authorized by motion from Pat Mahaffey. Dennis Nicodemus seconded. All voted yes.
Pay Mahaffey moved to retain the Ohio Plan risk insurance for 1 year. Barbara Strussion seconded the motion. All voted yes.
Administrative Order #1: A trustee may have cause to question a requisition or check made for payment of Township funds. The trustee may place a three day hold on the dispersing of funds.
Administrative Order #2: Non fire personnel must take at least an 8 hour break after working 16 hours straight.
Investment policy approval tabled.
Pay Mahaffey moved to approve payroll of $266,037.13 and bills of $207672.25 for February. Barbara Strussion seconded the motion. All voted yes.
Pat Mahaffey moved to authorize Fiscal Officer to pay the bills and payroll for March. Barbara Strussion seconded. All voted yes.
Pat Mahaffey made motion to move to executive session for personnel reasons at 6:44pm.
Returned to regular meeting at 6:50pm
Pat Mahaffey moved to increase the road superintendents pay to $26.00 per hour starting the next pay period. Barbara Strussion seconded the motion. All voted yes.
Pat Mahaffey made motion to adjourn at 6:53pm.
Next regular meeting will be Thursday April 1, 2010 at 6:00pm at Station 161.
