Trustee Meeting Minutes August 5, 2010

The Truro Township Trustees held a regular meeting August 5, 2010 at 9:00 am at St. 161. Present were Trustee Pat Mahaffey, Trustee Dennis Nicodemus, Trustee Barbara Strussion, Fiscal Officer Natalie Nicodemus, Superintendent Stan Knoderer, Administrator Bob Stapleton and B.C. Hein. Chief Foltz, B.C. Sharps, Deaver and Kimble were absent.

The Meeting was called to order with the pledge and roll call.

Dennis Nicodemus moved to approve meeting minutes July 1, 2010 and emergency meeting minutes from July 20, 2010. Barbara Strussion seconded motion. All voted yes.

Guest:
Members from Franklin County Economic Development & Planning Department: Further discussion about community plan called the Madison-Truro Community Plan. Delivered copies of timelines and meeting dates.

Chief Hein: Kim Foltz will have an ankle operation and will be put on 40 hours for this extended recovery period.
Thank you to Stan and assistant for cleaning flower beds and trimming bushes at St. 161.
Todd Huss is requesting to step down to a part time position as of August 12, 2010.
Request to declare a vacancy in the full time staff. Would like to promote a part time member to full time.
Request to hire 5 new part time employees.
Taste of Reynoldsburg is Tuesday August 10, 2010 from 4-8pm.
B.C. Deaver is at St. 162 for a MECC meeting at time of our meeting.

Dennis Nicodemus made motion to declare vacancy in full time firefighter program. Pat Mahaffey seconded. All voted yes.

Lt. Brooks: Tactical team attended “hell week.”
Street vests arrived and traffic vests were ordered.
Thank you to Todd Poole for EMS tablets maintenance.
EMS statistics: Sunday is busiest day of the week with 187 runs.
Followed by Monday with 186.
Friday is slowest with 176 runs.

Superintendent Stan Knoderer report: 3 crypts purchased in mausoleum.
1 interment: Christopher Randall on July 13, 2010.
1 entombment: Ben R. Jackson on July 20, 2010.
Follow up on liens on Franklin County Auditors website for properties with violations.

Fiscal Officer's report: June reconciliation authorized by motion from Pat Mahaffey. Dennis Nicodemus seconded. All voted yes.

Pat Mahaffey made a motion to increase number of part time fire employees to 25. Dennis Nicodemus seconded. All voted yes.

Pay Mahaffey moved to approve payroll of $369,275.39 and bills of $242,721.85 for July. Dennis Nicodemus seconded the motion. All voted yes.

Pat Mahaffey moved to authorize Fiscal Officer to pay the bills and payroll for August. Dennis Nicodemus seconded. All voted yes.

Barb and Dennis would both like to thank Todd Huss for service and Todd Poole for all help.
x Policy manual meeting for Fiscal Officer, Trustees and Attorney Dan Guttman at Baker & Hostetler office is scheduled Friday, August 27, 2010 at 9am.

Pat Mahaffey made motion to adjourn at 9:45am.

Next regular meeting will be Thursday September 2, 2010 at 6:00pm at Station 161.
