Trustee Meeting Minutes April 7, 2011
The Truro Township Trustees held a regular meeting April 7, 2011 at 6:00 pm at St. 161. Present were Trustee Pat Mahaffey, Barbara Strussion, Fiscal Officer Natalie Nicodemus, B.C. Hein, B.C. Kimble, B.C. Sharps, Chief Foltz, Trustee Dennis Nicodemus, Superintendent Stan Knoderer and Administrator Bob Stapleton. B.C. Deaver was absent.
The Meeting was called to order with the pledge and roll call.
Barbara Strussion moved to approve meeting minutes from March 3 meeting. Pat Mahaffey seconded motion. All voted yes.
Chief Foltz: Congratulations to Lt Bryan for being awarded Franklin County Firefighter of the year.
The Leadership, Legacy and Tactical Firefighting class held by the department was a success. Thank you to Lt Bryan for pulling all parts of class together.
2 Requisitions: 1 for an AED the Battalion vehicle. 1 for two AutoPulse units.
Need to replace 2 tuff book computers for the medic vehicles.
Ohio American Water will be flushing hydrants in our area on April 12, 13, 14, 19 and 20.
Would like for Trustees to declare an opening to promote a part time firefighter to full time.
Pat Mahaffey made a motion to declare a vacancy in the full time programs. Barb Strussion seconded. All voted yes.
Chief Hein: Government aggregation program for natural gas will save us 15%.
Driveways are being sealed.
B.C. Kimble: Williams had chosen Allied Steel to complete counter top at St 162. It is completed just needs plywood to mount and will be ready next week.
Lovejoy and firefighters have decided to use same floor as hallways to replace carpet in bunk rooms at St 162. There is some left over that will work well.
Fire Prevention report: Life Safety training is completed at Rosehill Elementary and Herbert Mills Elementary. Seminar instructors were impressed with equipment and department as a whole.
B.C. Sharps: Blood draws for department physicals is May 2, 3, 4.
Recertification for CPR is coming in the future.
2 TEMS members Rundell and Lt. Brooks will conduct training for U.S. Marshals.
Superintendent Stan Knoderer report: One gravesite purchased in March.
Tree seedlings have been purchased From Franklin Soil & Water Conservation District.
Looking into bids for sealing and filling cracks in roads in cemetery.
Sweep A Lot, Inc will complete street cleaning project this year in Truro's Qualstan subdivision.
2 properties were referred to FCPH; one for scattered debris from a house fire – one for asphalt dumping.
Asked Stan to look into agreement with Attorney and funeral home for burying indigents in our cemetery.
Fiscal Officer's report: Approved February 2011 bank reconciliation.
BWC conducted audit. We learned proper ways to be reporting payroll figures to them each year. Be looking for bill for around $1200 for 2011 from miscalculations.
Firefighter Corinne Breece thanked trustees and department for helping and understanding her work/health situation.
Pay Mahaffey moved to approve payroll of $266,314.62 and bills of $338,611.38 for March. Barbara Strussion seconded the motion. All voted yes.
Pat Mahaffey moved to authorize Fiscal Officer to pay the bills and payroll for April. Barbara Strussion seconded. All voted yes.
Truro Township Fire Department Awards Banquet at Vineyard Church in Reynoldsburg is 4/8/11 at 6pm.
Pat Mahaffey made motion to adjourn at 6:35pm.
Next regular meeting will be Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 6:00pm at Station 161.
