Trustee Meeting Minutes July 7, 2011
The Truro Township Trustees held a regular meeting July 7, 2011 at 6:00 pm at St. 161. Present were Trustees Pat Mahaffey, Barbara Strussion, Dennis Nicodemus, Fiscal Officer Natalie Nicodemus, B.C. Hein, B.C. Deaver, Superintendent Stan Knoderer, and Administrator Bob Stapleton. B.C. Kimble, B.C. Sharps and Chief Foltz were absent.
The Meeting was called to order with the pledge and roll call.
Barbara Strussion moved to approve meeting minutes from June 2 meeting. Pat Mahaffey seconded motion. All voted yes.
Guest: Dan Guttman Baker & Hostetler: Presented a memo for nuisance policies practicality. Also discussed press releases in papers for township.
Fire Department Chief Foltz: absent
Chief Hein: Department received good feedback from donation of fire truck to Alabama.
There is a water leak in the kitchen at St. 161 from a deteriorating water pipe.
July 2 parade and fireworks went great.
Chief Hein and Chief Foltz will be attending the Ohio Fire Chiefs Conference.
MECC Chiefs meeting was hosted by St. 161 on Thursday, July 7, 2011.
Lieutenants test is Monday, July 11, 2011. Part 1 is a written test.
B.C. Kimble is working with Roberts Electric to fix electrical panel.
B.C. Deaver: Getting quotes to tile radio room at St. 162 because carpet is curling from desk chairs. Hoping to use same tile as new bunk room floor.
We are working with Whitehall on a FEMA grant to correct some computer problems.
B.C. Kimble: absent
Fire Prevention report: Madison Township borrowed safety house.
Four fires in June.
This month is Safety Town.
Lt. Shirey and Lt. Posey will be attending Ohio Arson School.
B.C. Sharps: absent
Roads and Cemetery
Superintendent Stan Knoderer report: Armor Asphalt resealed the cemetery road on June, 28, 2011.
All storm sewers west of Fleet Rd in Qualstan East were inspected and cleaned last month.
One property owner was referred to the Joint Criminal Task Force for the dumping of solid waste in the right of way. Violator agreed to remove waste in the near future.
Administration
Fiscal Officer's report: Approved June 2011 bank reconciliation.
Approval of 2012 Budget.
Administrator Bob Stapleton: no report
Resolution #072011: Be it resolved that the Truro Township Trustees make a request from the Franklin County Commissioners to grant Truro Township .05 inside millage.
Dennis Nicodemus seconded. All voted yes.
2012 Budget Resolution: Pat Mahaffey made a motion to approve the 2012 budget. Barb Strussion seconded. All voted yes.
Pay Mahaffey moved to approve payroll of $396,146.82 and bills of $344,643.18 for June. Barbara Strussion seconded the motion. All voted yes.
Pat Mahaffey moved to authorize Fiscal Officer to pay the bills and payroll for July. Barbara Strussion seconded. All voted yes.
Pat Mahaffey made motion to adjourn at 6:52pm.
Next regular meeting will be Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 6:00pm at Station 161.
