Trustee Meeting Minutes October 7, 2010
The Truro Township Trustees held a regular meeting October 7, 2010 at 6:00 pm at St. 161. Present were Trustee Pat Mahaffey, Trustee Dennis Nicodemus, Trustee Barbara Strussion, Fiscal Officer Natalie Nicodemus, Superintendent Stan Knoderer, B.C. Kimble, B.C. Sharps, B.C. Hein and Chief Foltz. Administrator Bob Stapleton and B.C. Deaver were absent.
The Meeting was called to order with the pledge and roll call.
Barbara Strussion moved to approve meeting minutes September 2, 2010.
Chief Foltz: Hometown Hero broadcast on September 23, 2010 went well. Thank you to all who attended.
The new fire prevention vehicle is complete and in service. Asking Trustees to declare fire prevention van surplus.
Pat Mahaffey made motion to declare fire prevention van surplus. Dennis Nicodemus seconded motion. All voted yes.
Would like Trustees to increase clothing allowance from $375 to $425 for 2011.
Pat Mahaffey made motion to increase the clothing allowance to $425. Barb Strussion seconded. All voted yes.
Trustees accepted Gary Congrove's resignation from his full time position. He will remain on as part time. Thank you to Gary for his 22 years of service.
Would like Trustees to declare a vacancy in the full time staff and allow for a promotion from part time program.
Pat Mahaffey made motion to declare a vacancy in the full time fire staff. Dennis Nicodemus seconded. All voted yes.
Would like Trustees to consider a once a year stipend for the shift Lieutenants use of their cell phones in the amount of $30 per month for a total of $360 paid December 1st.
Pat Mahaffey made motion to give shift Lieutenants $30 per month for cell phone use paid once yearly. Barb Strussion seconded. All voted yes.
Looking into remodeling of certain areas at Station 161.
Chief Hein: Bureau of Workers Compensation new Drug Free Safety Program will save us 40% on premiums.
Attended a management skills seminar and determined that there are some necessary revisions to the fire handbook. This will be complete at the first of the year.
B.C. Sharps: There was an EMS billing problem with bills sent out from 5/15-8/1/10. Lt. Brooks is working on the issue.
Prescription drug drop off is scheduled for November 6, 2010 at Station 162 with Reynoldsburg Police Department.
Flu Shots are coming end of this month.
B.C. Kimble: Issues were found with E-162 while winterizing.
Bay door at Station 162 is fixed.
Superintendent Stan Knodererreport: 4 crypts were purchased by Attorney Paul S. Kormanik.
Replaced new stop signs in Qualstan.
1 property referred to FCBOH for accumulation of trash.
Fiscal Officer's report: Cemetery bequest CD will be set up when Bob returns.
August reconciliation authorized by motion from Pat Mahaffey. Dennis Nicodemus seconded. All voted yes.
Pay Mahaffey moved to approve payroll of $248,294.67 and bills of $340,766.80 for September. Dennis Nicodemus seconded the motion. All voted yes.
Pat Mahaffey moved to authorize Fiscal Officer to pay the bills and payroll for October. Dennis Nicodemus seconded. All voted yes.
Pat Mahaffey made motion to adjourn at 6:40pm.
Next regular meeting will be Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 6:00pm at Station 161.
